Hawaii 2016

I had taken a week long trip to the beautiful island of Oahu for a nice girl’s getaway – minus a bunch of girl friends who couldn’t make it out due to work or school. This was the first time ever where I booked a flight without much regard other than to YOLO it. (BUT of course I had it in mind that I would be moving away soon and would not get the chance to travel in a long while until I found a job and saved up vacation time. With my ticket booked all I had to do was ride out the months until my vitamin d-deficient body wouldn’t be as severely deficient.

While on the hikes, I realized just how out of shape I’ve been and wishing I hadn’t been wasting my monthly payments at 24HF. To tell you the truth, it’s still going to waste but I’ll be back on that grind sure enough. Waking up at 4am to my friend’s alarm clock going off multiple time I wondered ‘Are we going or what?’ I asked that out loud, and it came out in my usual snarky sarcastic tone which I never mean. Everyone got a laugh at that since it was pitch black and whoever’s phone was going off kept getting snoozed.

I had the chance to hike on the Makapu’u Lighthouse Trail, Koko Head and Lanikai Pillbox Hike. I floated around in Hanauma Bay – freaked when I saw an eel while snorkeling and kept falling back into the water. My favorite beach above all was Lanikai.

The entire experience felt surreal since I had never seen water so clear and clean coming from Northern California where the ocean water can be questionable but beautiful from afar. There are definitely a bunch of places I missed out on but will keep them on my priority list of things to do, eat and see on Oahu when I take a trip out there again.
