simple face || spring 2018

No…this isn’t a make up tutorial. Good God, I can barely curl my lashes properly or match my winged liner. So of course this is no where near a make up tutorial. I won’t even give make up tips – I can promise you that. This is really just me talking about what products I use – and it’s not even really on a daily basis. This post is kind of a follow up to my current skincare day|night 2018 because…you know make up looks better with a good base. Good skin = good base.

I love what make up can do – it can amp up your natural look, it can make you feel confident, it can make you feel like an entirely different person. Make up can be magic. I love make up but I don’t wear very much of it. I don’t like the caked on look or just the idea of having so many products on my face. I’m pretty minimal when it comes to my face but I do love a good simple date night look. I live for making my cheek bones pop (thanks Mom!) and accentuating my strong square jaw (thanks Dad!).

While I have more make up than I actually use, I do have my go to’s when I want to be a little more glam…or alive looking. ; ] For my day to day use (and when I have eyelash extensions) I typically stick to making sure I have bomb-ass brows and concealed under eyes. (Brows frame your face, they frame your life.) When I don’t have lash extensions I love curling my lashes and using Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara.

I think if I had it my way and I looked well-rested every day of my life, I would fill in my brows just a little bit and do more than enough swipes of mascara and call it a day. I’d skip the concealer.

One of my good friends is GREAT at make up. When we all turned 21 and were able have a night on the town all of us girls would go to her to get glam. I feel like she was the first person I would go to for advice regarding shadow colors to use. Eventually I turned to blogs and YouTube. It’s pretty friggin’ hard finding people with my skin tone for pointers but I have a few favorites. As I mentioned in my skincare post, I have sensitive skin and it’s amazing that I found a light weight foundation that works for me.

Even after all the make up tutorials I still can’t do a smokey eye right.

Here’s what I use and the order to which I use the products in. FYI – when it’s a night out I do use the foundation and then the powder on top to make things stay and so I don’t look so damn shiny. Down below I’ve bolded and put an asterisk of what I wear on a regular basis. Don’t shoot me if I’m not ordering things right.

Do you and I’ll do me.
